The Marks Estate
Joseph and Rebecca Marks purchased Lot 7 block 22 located in historic Clearview, Oklahoma in 1954. This property contains the original Abe Lincoln Trading Store built by the Abe Lincoln Trading Company in 1903.
The Mission
Our mission at the Marks’ Family Preservation Foundation is to restore and preserve this rich part of Clearviews’ African American history for the awareness and education of future generations to come.
THE ABE LINCOLN TRADING COMPANY
The Abe Lincoln Trading Store. is one of two original buildings left standing in the historic all-African American town of Clearview, Oklahoma. It was built approx. in 1903, by the Lincoln Townsite Company led by the three city founders: Lemuel Jackson, J.A. Roper, and Rev. John Grayson.
